Your life. Your future.

Welcome!

My name is Ginny Gutman and I’m a licensed psychotherapist.  From early on I found that I was deeply empathetic to those around me.  I knew that I should cultivate this personality trait when my peers were always coming to me for guidance.  Even then, I knew I found helping others figure out navigation through life struggles was my passion.  It certainly helps that I have had my own share of life transitions, stressors and relationship obstacles to deal with.

Something you should know is that I am strengths-based. Meaning I view all my clients as people with strengths and resiliency no matter what their circumstance, and I aim to help them use that to be empowered. Also, I’ve specifically sought out working with a variety of people from different cultural backgrounds throughout my career in interest of true therapeutic competency.

  • I have training and experience in:

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

    Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

    Motivational Interviewing (MI)

    Mindfulness-Based Interventions

    Gottman Method (with couples)

  • Professional Bio:

    -Licensed psychotherapist since 2012

-Licensed in the States of Arizona, California and New York

-Master’s in Social Work from the Greater Rochester Collaborative Master of Social Work program through Nazareth and SUNY Brockport Colleges

-BA in Psychology from University at Buffalo

-Member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW)

  • On a personal note...

When I'm not helping people get to a better place in life (my favorite!) I like going to new places/trying new things, hiking, and being outside in general.

But I also really enjoy a good lazy weekend afternoon watching six episodes of a TV show.

    Balance is key!
